Family Marí Mayans, dedicated for over 140 years to the research of aromatic plants and the production of high-quality liqueurs with great flavor from plants and fruits of Ibiza and Formentera, has reached an agreement with the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT) of México to produce and market its own 100% verified brand under the registered trademark TeqMex®.
A sophisticated rested tequila, made in the Jalisco region, with the aim of offering lovers of this spirit, each of the nuances of this seductive drink made exclusively with blue agave hand-harvested in Jalisco.
“After a great deal of research, we found the perfect place for our idea; our own tequila that meets all Mexican requirements: ingredients, collection, processes or production area, as Tequila is strongly regulated under a very specific and geographically protected regulation,” explains Family Marí Mayans. “We agreed with a Mexican distillery to make a tequila following our perceptions in terms of aroma, taste and other organoleptic qualities, based on the numerous samples of the different recipes received,” they detail. “The result is a rounded tequila, of great quality and with all the flavor of México,” they summarize. It is a rested tequila that has three to six months of aging in American oak barrels, so it acquires a pale hue due to the contact of the distillate with the wood. Produced in Magdalena, Jalisco, Family Marí Mayans markets this distillate that pays homage to the iconic Mexican Catrina, a symbol of the Day of the Dead in the Central American country.
