The Ibizan company Familia Marí Mayans has a very positive assessment of its participation in the fair Alimentaria 2026 held in Barcelona. At this event, one of the most relevant in the national scope for the food and beverage sector, this leading company in the artisanal production of liquors, infusions, and salts from Ibiza had its own stand in a strategic location that enjoyed a constant flow of public and attracted a large number of visitors.
During the four days in which this great event took place, the promoters of Family Marí Mayans welcomed both professionals, many of whom were interested in Hierbas Ibicencas Family Marí Mayans after being recognized with the Premio Alimentos de España as ‘Best spirit drink with Geographical Indication 2025’ awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and various publics who approached their stand to taste and learn about the entire range of spirits that this company produces in Ibiza.

“Among the most valued products were the Frígola® and the Palo, especially for their versatility in terms of consumption methods. Likewise, our new Marí Mayans 0% drink achieved great success as a non-alcoholic alternative, both for its concept and its flavor,” noted the Familia Marí Mayans of Marí Mayans. “The combination of our spirits with the slushies from Los Valencianos also received an excellent reception from the attendees,” they explained.
Alimentaria has also been an excellent showcase for the range of Botanicals from Familia Marí Mayans, which includes three varieties of Ibizen Infusions, ‘Lemon Verbena’, ‘Chamomile’, and ‘Thyme and Orange Peel Flower of Frígola’, and for its range of Gourmet, with its Sal de Ibiza ANaCleta. “The infusions also generated a very positive response, especially due to the intensity of their flavors and the production process, which sparked great interest among attendees,” stated representatives from Familia Marí Mayans. “One of the most valued aspects was the local origin of our products, made entirely in Ibiza with raw materials from the territory and local producers,” they concluded.

New markets
One of the objectives of this Marí Mayans-owned company with 146 years of history, whose spirits are already found in countries such as Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United States, Russia, or the United Kingdom, at this professional fair was to explore new markets to export its liqueurs and promote new projects both inside and outside our country.
In this sense, its promoters and fifth generation of this Ibizan company, Bartolomé and Carlos Marí Mayans stated that “Alimentaria has represented an important commercial opportunity. The recent recognition of Hierbas Ibicencas Family Marí Mayans as the best spirit drink in Spain has facilitated the approach of new contacts interested in collaborating, especially in the national market, opening the door to expand the presence of our products on the peninsula.” Regarding the possibility of carrying out new projects abroad, “we held meetings with international importers and distributors, as well as with industry professionals who approached our stand directly with interest in developing new opportunities in foreign markets,” they stated.
